Sometimes you just have to get the girls together and go for a little road trip!
It’s so easy to get caught up in work and just the busyness of life, but it’s important to set aside the to-do list once in a while and make memories with your besties!
We actually planned our outing to Magnolia Market back in January and sadly one of our crew got the flu and had to stay home… but the silver lining is, we’ll just go again when she’s feeling better! (We missed you, Ellen!)
Sofi, Monica, and I got up super early (for us!) on a Saturday to drive down to Waco to visit Magnolia Market by Chip and Joanna Gaines, of HGTV’s Fixer Upper fame. If you haven’t seen their show, you need to check it out! Chip and Jo are authentic and fun to watch and their makeovers are always on point. Walking through the store definitely feels like you stepped into one of the homes they’ve fixed up!
It was decently crowded the Saturday we went, but the weather was cloudy and a bit chilly, so we think that helped to make the crowd size a little more manageable.
We arrived soon after they opened and were able to get right into the store, which was all decked out for spring and it was gorgeous!
We all picked out a mug because we drink coffee, duh… and now when we sip coffee from those mugs we’ll be reminded of the day we were able to spend together, eating too much sugar and chatting about everything and anything.
Speaking of sugar… if I’m being honest, I was most excited about the bakery! And I was not disappointed in the least!! If you go, you must try The Silo Cookie. I am still thinking about that cookie a week later… I would not be opposed to driving to Waco just for that cookie!
We also got a sampling of cupcakes and those are equally delicious. Our consensus was that the Cup O’ Jo is the best. Chocolate cake and espresso buttercream icing, how could you go wrong??
I will say the whole property was smaller than I was expecting, but Chip and Jo thought of every detail! They have cultivated their brand very well.
The Magnolia Seed and Supply is especially cute! There are even a few fairies gardens about.
And these picnic tables complete with striped awnings are the perfect place to devour your sweets, or if you’re a responsible adult, you’ll eat lunch from the food trucks before stuffing your face with cookies and cupcakes…
So, if you’re in the neighborhood, you should definitely stop by The Silos. And don’t forget the cookies!
